Pasture Raised on the Otway Coast

Good lamb begins with good pasture.

From the rolling green hills of Johanna, overlooking the Southern Ocean, comes Johanna Lamb — pasture-raised Suffolk lamb from our small family-run farming enterprise on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road. For those seeking pasture raised lamb in Victoria, our sheep are born and raised here on the Otway Coast.

Born and raised here in the Otways, our lambs grow on pasture, surrounded by the changing seasons of this remarkable coastal landscape.

We’re bringing a limited number of lambs directly from our farm to your table, available as whole and half boxed lamb.

It’s a simple idea: thoughtfully raised sheep, good pasture and quality lamb, with a genuine connection to the place it comes from.

Our first seasonal release is planned for early 2027.

Small flock. Pasture raised. Grown in Johanna.

A little farm on the Otway Coast

There’s something special about Johanna.

Tucked between the forests of the Great Otway National Park and the Southern Ocean, this part of Victoria’s Great Ocean Road is a landscape of green hills, coastal winds, high rainfall and productive pasture.

It’s also where our Suffolk sheep call home.

Our farm is part of the wider Johanna Project, an ongoing effort to bring farming, land restoration and biodiversity together.

Alongside raising sheep, we’re improving pasture management, planting native trees, protecting waterways and working towards a healthier, more resilient landscape.

We believe farming and caring for the environment can go hand in hand.

For us, Johanna Lamb is more than a food product. It’s another way of sharing this place and the work we’re doing here.

Why Suffolk lamb?

A traditional meat breed, raised for the table.

With their distinctive black faces and white wool, Suffolk sheep are one of the world’s established meat breeds, valued for their natural muscling and ability to produce generous, well-proportioned lamb cuts.

For the home cook, that means beautiful roasting joints, substantial cutlets and loin chops, and slower-cooking favourites such as shoulders and shanks.

Our Suffolk flock began with breeding sheep from Lamont Park Suffolks, with the first Johanna-born lambs arriving in winter 2026.

Raised alongside their mothers and grown on the pastures of our Johanna farm, these are the same lambs you’ve seen exploring the paddocks, playing together and growing through the seasons.

We chose Suffolks for their meat-producing qualities, and we manage our flock with the aim of producing lamb that is enjoyable to cook, share and eat.

Good lamb begins well before the kitchen.

From our pasture to your table

We think knowing where your food comes from makes it all the more meaningful.

Johanna Lamb is raised on our own farm, rather than sourced from multiple producers. We know our flock, the paddocks they graze and the seasons they’ve grown through.

Our lamb is produced in small numbers, with seasonal availability rather than year-round supply.

Each lamb will be professionally processed and butchered, with cuts packed ready for your freezer.

Whether it’s a Sunday roast, cutlets on the barbecue or slow-cooked lamb shanks shared around the table, buying a whole or half lamb offers a practical way to enjoy a range of cuts.

One farm. One flock. A genuine connection to where your food comes from.

Whole & Half Lamb Boxes

A selection of traditional lamb cuts, ready for your freezer.

Our first Johanna Lamb release will offer whole and half boxed lamb, providing a variety of cuts from across the animal.

These are indicative butcher specifications. Actual cut numbers, weights and availability will depend on the size of each lamb and the final processing arrangements.

All boxes will contain a selection of cuts suited to roasting, grilling, barbecuing and slow cooking.

Our first release — Early 2027

A small seasonal release from our first Johanna-born flock.

Our first lambs arrived in winter 2026 and have been growing on our coastal pastures ever since.

We’re planning to make a limited number of whole and half lamb boxes available in early 2027.

Because we’re a small producer, availability will be limited. We’re inviting customers to register their interest ahead of the first release.
